Here's what you can expect when you visit us, including our core values.
Our vision is to make the Gospel (God News) available to all in our community.
We offer a traditional worship service that includes hymns, communion, a message, and concludes with an invitation. During our worship service we offer a time and class for children’s church (ages 5-11).
We work with various organizations in the community to be good neighbors to all who may be in need. We donate to and help man the local food pantry; we collect funds and items to send to the mission fields; we support schools, Birthright, and veteran programs; we provide free blankets via our “Cover Carroll County” program. In general, we are a small church that tries to stretch our resources to help others.
Any person may enter the membership of this congregation by publicly confessing his faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, and witnessing the same by obedience to His command, in Christian baptism (immersion) for the remission of sins; or by presenting evidence or making statement of having done so.
We currently have one class for adults that meets after worship service. Past topics have included: Cults, Discipleship & Missions, Path to the Cross, etc. We use Bible study and videos that show the archeology of the Bible.
Bob Duke became the pastor of DCC in 2011. He has served in Christian ministry since 1976. Bob spent 36 years in the mission field of education. He felt that he needed to keep a Christian influence in public education. During this time he filled in for churches that were between ministers or for ministers who went on vacation. He is a combat veteran having served in Viet Nam with the U. S. Army. “God saw me through combat fire fights so I wanted to live for Him.” He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication and Psychology from Indiana University; a Master’s degree in Language Arts; and a Specialist’s Degree in School Administration. After retiring as assistant superintendent from Indian Creek School Corporation in Johnson County, he became DCC’s pastor. He retired from DCC in 2022. After a year and a half of filling in for other area churches, Bob now returns to DCC.
